If you use Yoast in WordPress and don’t add a unique page description, it will not display any meta description and will revert to the first lines on each page.  So you need to make sure the Meta Description gets filled in per web page.  If your website has 50 pages, there may be a lot of work entering this information, but it really needs to be done.  By just adding Yoast, you are not doing the actual meta description page work. Yoast and other SEO tools give you the space to enter content, but leaving it blank is worse than running these tools.
