25 Aug Optimizing image file names
We have renamed images to optimize Google image searches so that image comes up in a google image search. This is very often overlooked by web developers and especially content writers. What has made this much easier are systems like WordPress, where you can rename image file names. In the case of image directories, we used to always use the /images/ directory, but that was always a missed opportunity. If you apply both the natural language SEO concept and guerilla hack SEO techniques you would want to rename the images directory something like /best-images-of-local-dentists/ if the website was about multiple local dentists. That URL itself is considered part of the image name. For images themselves, we used to go as far as renaming something like logo.jpg to speed-dating-logo.jpg just to get more keywords into a page!
