Building BackLinks on Free Article/Blog Sites Like Medium SEO

This is pretty standard old-time stuff. Think of Google as a directory, just the biggest one out there.  That means you need to be on at least on the Microsoft Bing Search Engine “directory”. Every link is important. But let’s go back to the original directory, aka Yellow Pages.  If you want a basic directory listing the phone book is the first place you need to stop and get that link. Directories are either free or paid. I personally would not pay. But every backlink you can get this way is great. There are general directories like The Yellow Pages, and you may have to pay for that. Some of you reading this may not remember the big Yellow Page books. Their legacy remains online. But then there are specialized directory pages per industry.  I have worked with Nutritional Supplement directories and specialized industry directories.  Almost all are paid.  If you work for a company building links for them, get a budget!  But if you are like me, you skip this stuff because there are so many other ways to get a backlink for free or a little bit of hard work instead.  If you take a look at Moz, they have a service at https://moz.com/checkout/local/check which checks further across many services. The big ones they list are Google, Google Maps, Facebook, and Bing.  But then they go further and see if you are listed on Foursquare, Hotfrog, US-info, Navmii, HERE, TomTom, Uber, and Factual.  Go out to all these and set yourself up!
