20 Aug Building Backlinks on Facebook
As I start to consider Facebook as a backlink page and look up my personal Facebook pages, I am coming to the realization that Facebook is kind of weak as a backlink system. That’s because Facebook does not want to promote anything but Facebook. Facebook allows Google to glom through all their content so it shows up in Google Searches, but when it comes to generating a hard link back to your website, it seems that Facebook has explicitly left a nofollow in the link. What does that mean? It means that Facebook is telling Google or the crawlers to not pursue or index that link specifically. Aw, that’s not fair. But that is how Facebook plays the game.
