Over the years I have probably entered thousands of URLs while building websites. Outgoing page links can have multiple settings. One in particular target=”_blank” pops open a new page, instead of changing that browser page to a new page. Web builders use this to keep the website on the visitors site, while another browser window opens to get them to a new site. So you should never use _blank within a website, but only to external sites.
